Shopify

The Shopify app connects one or more Shopify stores to Sprigr Team. Agents can read and write orders, fulfillments, inventory, products, customers, collections, content pages, discounts, refunds, and returns, and can answer sales questions from synced store data. It is built for order operations, support triage, content upkeep, and fulfillment workflows.

  • An active Shopify store (or several).
  • Admin or Owner role in your Sprigr Team organisation to install the app.
  1. Open Apps

Sign in to team.sprigr.com, open Apps in the sidebar, find Shopify under Available, and install it.

  2. Connect a store

The app shows an illustrated step-by-step connect guide. Choose one of:

    • Shopify OAuth: authorise from your Shopify admin.
    • Install link: the app gives you a link that completes the connection automatically when opened from the store.
    • Custom app: for partner-provisioned custom apps, the connection completes hands-free (shopify_connect_custom_app).
  3. Add more stores

Connecting an additional store goes through the same in-app flow as the first. Each store can be given a label (for example “USA store”) so agents can refer to it by name instead of an ID.

  4. Verify

Ask your agent “Which Shopify stores are connected?” It calls shopify_list_stores.

A merchant can also start from the Shopify side. After granting consent in Shopify, the merchant is brought back to Sprigr to finish:

  • Existing Sprigr user with a workspace: they confirm which workspace to attach the store to.
  • Existing Sprigr user with no workspace, or a brand-new merchant: after signing in or signing up, Sprigr auto-provisions a workspace named after the shop, attaches the store, and opens agent chat.

A store can be disconnected (shopify_disconnect) while the app stays installed, and reconnected later. Agents can do this on request.

One install can hold several stores. shopify_list_stores, shopify_set_default_store, and shopify_set_store_label manage them. Every tool accepts a store, defaults to the default store, and approval prompts name the store being changed. Scheduled sync sweeps every connected store.

The app subscribes to Shopify webhooks for orders, products, customers, fulfillments, refunds, and inventory, so store data is mirrored into Sprigr in near-real-time. An initial backfill runs on connect, an hourly backstop poll covers anything a webhook missed, and large historic backfills run as Shopify bulk operations (shopify_run_bulk_backfill, shopify_bulk_backfill_status). Custom-app stores get the same real-time updates.

Destructive or money-moving actions require a real human sign-off before they run. When an agent tries one, a person in the chat sees an approval card naming the specific product, collection, order, or discount and the store, and can approve or reject it. Always-gated actions include cancelling an order, capturing a payment, creating a refund, completing a draft order (which charges the customer), and deleting a product, customer, collection, page, blog, article, discount, or metaobject definition. Bulk actions such as adding many tags, adding many products to a collection, or deleting several files are gated above a size threshold.

Many write actions can be reversed: the app keeps an undo journal, and the platform’s list_undoable_changes and undo_change tools restore the previous state.

Every Shopify webhook the app receives is emitted as a Sprigr event a workflow can subscribe to: shopify.orders.create, .updated, .paid, .cancelled, .fulfilled, .partially_fulfilled and .edited; shopify.products.create, .update and .delete; shopify.customers.create, .update and .delete; shopify.inventory_levels.update; shopify.fulfillments.create and .update; shopify.refunds.create; and shopify.fulfillment_orders.fulfillment_request_submitted and .cancellation_request_submitted. The payload names the store and the record; the workflow reads it back through the Shopify tools before acting.

The app exposes about 150 agent-facing tools. At a category level:

  • Stores and connection: list stores, set the default, label stores, disconnect.
  • Orders: list and search orders, get an order, update order details and shipping address, append notes, cancel, capture payment, check order risk, acknowledge dispatch.
  • Fulfillment: list fulfillments and fulfillment orders; create fulfillments; accept, reject, hold, release, move, split, close, and cancel fulfillment orders; submit fulfillment and cancellation requests; register as a fulfillment service for 3PL flows.
  • Refunds and returns: create refunds, list and create returns, close returns, list disputes.
  • Draft orders: create and complete draft orders.
  • Products and variants: search, get, create, update, delete products; get and update variants; product image alt text; add and remove tags.
  • Inventory: get inventory, list inventory items and locations, activate, adjust by item or SKU, set levels, low-inventory report.
  • Customers: search, get, create, update, delete customers; B2B companies.
  • Collections: list, get, create, update, delete collections; add and remove products.
  • Content and SEO: pages, blogs, articles, navigation menus, 301 redirects, metafields and metaobjects, files, publications (sales channels), translations, markets, delivery profiles.
  • Discounts: create, list, delete discounts.
  • Abandoned checkouts: list and get.
  • Analytics: sales summary, sales time series, top products, top customers, sales by SKU, sales breakdown, refund rate, inventory on hand.

Ask your agent what it can do with Shopify, or check the app’s tools in Apps, to see the exact set in your workspace.

  • Order lookups for support. A team member asks about order #10452; the agent reports status, fulfillment progress, and tracking so the person can reply to the customer.
  • Fulfillment automation. A workflow marks orders fulfilled once they ship, keeping the store in sync with the warehouse.
  • Inventory checks and adjustments. The agent checks stock on a product and adjusts levels when asked.
  • Content upkeep. The agent fixes missing alt text, adds redirects, or drafts a blog article for review.
  • Daily sales brief. A scheduled workflow posts yesterday’s sales summary and top products to the team.

“Unauthorised” errors The store’s token may have expired or the app was removed in Shopify. Reconnect the store from the app’s page in Apps.

Tools not appearing Confirm the app is installed and at least one store is connected, and that the app is available to the agent you are using.

An action is waiting for approval Someone in the chat needs to approve or reject the card. Approved actions keep their details and attachments visible afterward.

Store data missing The app can only see what the store’s scopes allow. Scopes can be edited without disconnecting and reconnecting.
