Instabot
Instabot runs an Instagram engagement bot for your account on Sprigr-operated infrastructure. Each install gets its own dedicated Android emulator running the real Instagram app, driven by an automation engine that likes, follows, comments, watches and unfollows within limits you set, plus a content pipeline configured with your brand’s name, description, voice and colours. You connect your Instagram account once by signing in on the emulator screen shown in the app; from then on agents can report status and engagement statistics, pause and resume, read logs, and push configuration changes.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- An Instagram account you are entitled to operate, and its login details to hand.
- Admin or Owner role in your Sprigr Team organisation to install the app.
Installing and connecting
Section titled “Installing and connecting”-
Install the app
Sign in to team.sprigr.com, open Apps in the sidebar, find Instabot under Available, and install it. No secrets are requested. See Installing Apps.
-
Set the account handle and brand, then save to provision
Open the app’s settings page from Apps > Installed. It reads “Not yet configured” until you fill in the form and save. Under Instagram account, enter the handle you will log in with, and fill in the brand section (name, description, voice, colours) that drives the content pipeline. Saving provisions the dedicated emulator and bot for your install; the status badge shows provisioning until it is ready.
-
Connect Instagram on the emulator
When the bot needs its first login, the settings page shows a Connect Instagram section with a live stream of the emulator screen. Click into it and log in to Instagram on the device as you would on a phone, completing any verification Instagram asks for. If Instagram later asks you to re-verify, the same section reappears as Re-verify Instagram.
-
Tune limits and filters
Set daily limits (follows, likes, comments), pacing, active hours in your timezone, per-session behaviour, unfollow strategy, and the account-type and structural filters (language, audience size, bio words) that decide which accounts the bot engages with. Save, and the bot picks up the new configuration.
-
Check status
Ask your agent “How is the Instabot doing?” It reports orchestrator state and today’s, this week’s and all-time engagement counts.
What agents can do
Section titled “What agents can do”The intabot tool takes an action:
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
status | Orchestrator state and the bot’s container ids |
stats | Engagement aggregates (likes, follows, comments, unfollows, watched) for today, the last 24 hours, the last 7 days and all time |
pause and resume | Stop and restart engagement without reprovisioning |
view_logs | Raw bot logs for diagnosis |
refresh_config | Push brand, engagement and schedule changes to the running bot |
sync_history | Re-index recent sessions on demand; an hourly sync does this automatically |
Every session’s results are indexed into your workspace, one record per session, so agents can report trends by date. The settings page also shows a Live view of the emulator while the bot is running.
Common use cases
Section titled “Common use cases”- Steady account growth. The bot engages with accounts matching your niche filters within daily limits, and a weekly workflow reports the numbers.
- Campaign windows. Pause during a sensitive period and resume afterwards from chat.
- Brand-aligned content. The content pipeline uses your brand description and voice.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”The screen is stuck on “Connect Instagram” but I am already logged in Use the link under the stream that tells the app Instagram is already signed in.
Instagram asked me to verify Complete the verification on the emulator screen in the Re-verify Instagram section. Until then the bot waits.
Engagement numbers are lower than the limits New accounts warm up gradually, and active hours, pacing and filters all reduce what the bot does in a day. Raising limits quickly is the fastest way to trip Instagram’s checks.
Follower counts look rounded Instagram rounds counts to the nearest hundred above about 10,000 followers, so the displayed profile figure is coarse.
